In this paper, in order to study the relationship among different converters, a novel concept—modular high step-up converter—is proposed, which is composed of one basic converter, Nc cell (Nc-SUC), and M-source passive lossless clamped circuit (PLCC). means number capacitors represents PLCC. Nc-SUCs many voltage lift cells (VLCs) constant (CVLCs) are proposed their general gain formula deduced. Each type has Nc+1 structures same formula. Different can converse each other by adding or removing VLC CVLC. Then, converters with deduced, an additive combination converter. Besides, clamp called PLCC consisted M+1 diode presented. M come from Nc-SUC so only capacitor added. comparison classical PLCC, it makes not possible recycle energy stored leakage inductor, but also further reduce stresses switch output capacitor, improve gain, even realize three-level Compared cost unchanged. As increases, variety PLCCs will increase. Therefore, be chosen for converter inductor. If adopting thinking, based on formula, then, way CVLC expose researcher. Finally, improved 3-SUC as representative deduced analyzed detail laboratory verify performances.
